What is the IMD?

El DIM

Some background…

The International Marketing Day arises within the board of the Club de Marketing Málaga (Spain) as part of the internal objectives of this entity to promote and dignify marketing among society.

First event was held in 2017, on April 23rd 2018, the plenary session of the Malaga City Council approved the proposal to promote this International Day.

As a Member State of the United Nations, through the Spanish foreign ministry we applied to the UN General Assembly to mark the November 4 officially as the International Marketing Day, and that marketing would be given the recognition it deserves, as is done with other professions or industries.

The first time that International Marketing Day was celebrated, was in 2019.

In 2020, BMARKETING was held, a great virtual event to recognize the value of marketing. In this event, great leaders of the marketing sector participated.

Why on November 4th?

In Marketing the number 4 has always had a special significance because it used to represent the 4Ps of the marketing mix: Product, Price, Point of sale and Promotion, the four elements with which E. Jerome McCarthy defined the concept of marketing in 1960.

The platform for applying and obtaining the International Marketing Day is an initiative of the Malaga Marketing Club. This institution, founded in 2007, began its activity as a professional association in November.
